VILLA INTERIOR DESIGN ON THE NEW GOLDEN MILE
This 562 m², five-bedroom new-build villa on the New Golden Mile was designed by Tania Tsygel – Marbella Interior Design as a refined contemporary home for seasonal living. The brief called for a muted, relaxed interior that would feel sophisticated and comfortable without becoming overly formal.
The interior designer focused on creating a cohesive relationship between the architecture, furniture, materials and lighting. A restrained palette of beige, cream and soft neutral tones establishes a light and timeless foundation, while warm textures, bespoke furnishings and carefully selected decorative elements introduce depth and personality.
Particular attention was given to the way the villa would function when occupied for both everyday living and entertaining. The result is an interior that combines visual simplicity with practical details, allowing the generous spaces to remain comfortable, uncluttered and easy to enjoy throughout the year.
UNDERSTATED CONTEMPORARY DESIGN FOR SEASONAL LIVING
The interior was conceived with a deliberately restrained visual language, allowing the architecture and proportions of the villa to remain central to the experience. Soft beige and cream tones create a calm foundation, while warm textures and natural-looking finishes prevent the neutral palette from feeling flat or impersonal.
Because the property is used as a seasonal home, comfort and practicality were considered alongside aesthetics. Furniture was selected to create welcoming, functional spaces for both everyday use and entertaining, while keeping the generous rooms visually light.
The result is a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean living that relies on proportion, texture and carefully selected details rather than excessive decoration.
OPEN-PLAN LIVING & DINING — A SOCIAL CENTRE FOR SEASONAL LIVING
The living and dining areas were designed as a connected environment, allowing the villa to feel spacious and welcoming while remaining comfortable for everyday use. The dining area flows directly from the living room, creating a natural setting for both relaxed family life and entertaining guests.
A fireplace was introduced within the dining area to create a warmer and more intimate atmosphere. Because installing a conventional fireplace would have required a chimney and additional architectural intervention, we chose a bioethanol fireplace instead. This allowed us to introduce a real flame without altering the existing structure, turning the fireplace into both a functional feature and a carefully integrated design element.
We used a light furniture composition and soft neutral upholstery to preserve the airy quality of the space. Rather than filling the generous proportions, carefully scaled pieces establish comfortable areas within the open layout while maintaining clear visual connections between them.
The result is a living and dining environment that combines openness with a sense of intimacy, demonstrating how practical architectural constraints can be resolved through considered interior design.
BEDROOMS WITH INDIVIDUAL CHARACTER
The bedrooms were designed to feel connected to the overall interior while giving each private space its own identity. Rather than repeating the same scheme throughout the villa, we introduced subtle variations in colour, texture and detailing to create different atmospheres.
The master bedroom combines muted greys and dusty pinks with a bespoke dressing room, creating a softer and more private character. In another bedroom, deeper pink and beige tones bring warmth and contrast, while sliding doors were introduced to increase the usable space within the room.
A further bedroom uses a lighter composition of white, off-white and restrained gold accents, with a bespoke wardrobe interior providing additional and more ergonomic storage. These individual interventions allow the bedrooms to respond to different functions and moods while remaining part of one coherent interior scheme.
BESPOKE DETAILS & FUNCTIONAL DESIGN
Bespoke furnishings, specialist joinery and tailored storage were developed to respond to the practical requirements of each room while maintaining the villa’s restrained visual language. Details such as the bespoke dressing room and ergonomic wardrobe interiors add functionality without introducing unnecessary visual weight.
These elements reflect the approach of Tania Tsygel: creating interiors where practical requirements are resolved through design, so that functionality becomes part of the aesthetic rather than something added afterwards.

The completed villa combines a calm, contemporary aesthetic with the flexibility required for seasonal living. Generous social spaces, individually designed bedrooms and carefully integrated functional details create an interior that remains comfortable and visually balanced.
